East Gippsland's Weather
| | Victoria's Gippsland Lakes region experiences a unique climate, very different to that of Melbourne. Weather patterns are influenced by the position of the region, sandwiched between mountains and coast line. This often results in a more temperate climate; warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
According to the statistics collected by the Beureau of Meteorology (1855-2011):
East Gipplsand experiences the same number of clear sunny days as the Whitsundays in Queensland.
East Gippsland also experiences 23% more clear sunny days than Melbourne.

| Spring
| | Warmer days, increased bird activity and wildlife in abundance. Sunsets are a highlight, displaying an impressive spectrum of colors before the clear dark sky is scattered with millions of sparkling stars.
It was lovely to hear a recent charterer talk with such awe about the sights and sounds of the birds, the tranquil water early in the mornings as she watched low fog lift as she felt the warmth of the sun which was rising through the clouds. We nodded knowingly, having experienced the same magical feeling ourselves.
